Antigravity High Speed Vehicle

1:24 Scale

  • I have always been drawn to flying contraptions. The world of science fiction is full of quirky machines whose flying capabilities would be highly questionable, yet I found them immensely appealing. So, I decided to contribute my own grain of sand. It all began as a completely personal project, without much rhyme or reason. However, as I progressed, I could not help thinking in terms of individual reproducible parts, so that it could eventually be replicated as a complete model. I had to make some concessions to the design I originally had in mind and it ended up developing in what would become my second garage kit.

  • The preliminary concept was an antigravity vehicle with certain peculiarities. The inspiration came from old vintage race cars. A long body with smooth, streamlined shapes, featuring an external pilot at the rear in a reclined position, like a convertible. The front would be crowned with a large cooling grille. The sleek lines of the main body had to contrast with a more mechanically intricate lower and rear section, highlighted by a ridiculously large thruster and stabilizing fins, each with individual propulsion. Power was a must!

With this concept in mind, and after eight months of construction and development, the STEENBÖK you see here was born in the begining of 2023.

  • The model consists of 67 parts casted in high-quality polyurethane resin. Each piece is attached to a resin sprue, necessary for pouring the resin into the mold, which must be removed using a modeling saw. Each part is numbered for easy identification. Some key pieces are casted with a steel rod inside to enhance their strength and durability. Al parts fit in a very easy way and the construction process is very straightforward.

The kit includes an inventory of all parts, a step-by-step instruction manual, and a series of tips and tricks for building a resin model like this. Assembly is straightforward by following the manual's steps, although a thorough preliminary study is recommended. I always suggest using metal pins for joining key pieces or those that will bear some tension. The kit also includes a set of cables for additional detailing.

The model measures 22x17x18 cm and weighs approximately 450 g. The scale is 1:24. The model lacks any landing gear. It is recommended to use a stand to keep it in the desired position. Personally, I use two painted steel rods, each 2 mm thick, positioned at the front and rear sections

The model is fully paintable. I strongly recommend using a high-quality primer as a base coat.
